Born in 1986, running, 3 months early. An infection 20 days after birth left a memory of herself in the way she walks and moves. After high school, Laura Coccia studied Contemporary History at Sapienza University in Rome, earning her PhD in 2015. At 27 she was elected to Parliament where she was a Member of Parliament for the entire 17th Legislature and a member of the Culture, Science and Education Commission dealing with school inclusion, sports and equal opportunities. She now writes and works on communication and breaking down stereotypes and prejudices that surround especially women with disabilities.
